A typical Leapfrog project

Leapfrog co-operates with local NGO, schools and other education institutions in Africa and supports them in setting up an ilab and in drafting and offering IT training programmes for beginners and advanced students. In Germany, we partner with companies, institutions and private people who like their computers to be re-used in a sustainable and socially responsible way. Since recently, we have been partnering with Labdoo, a non-profit making service provider for hardware.

Connect

Local NGO or schools send their application for support in setting up an ilab and offering IT education to Leapfrog. After approval by Leapfrog, Leapfrog equips the ilabs with hardware and helps get the lab up and running. Closely with the partner organisation, as they know the needs and interests of the potential participants of the IT classes much better than Leapfrog, the training curricula will be drafted. Leapfrog offers trainings (online through our WIKI and classroom trainings) to the IT teachers in the partner organisations.

Empower

The partner organisation recruits the participants of the classes after having established selection criteria such as motivation and the financial situation of their families. Leapfrog offers technical support throughout the whole running time of the programme.

Change

Leapfrog continuously monitors the progress of the course and ensure the quality of the IT education through reports sent by the partner organisation, discussion session on the Leapfrog WIKI, project visits and through evaluations at the end of the each course.
